SDVOSB · Healthcare Consulting
Meridian Health Advisors is a boutique, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned consulting firm translating peer-reviewed clinical evidence into measurable operational outcomes for health systems and federal facilities.
Documented Outcomes
Outcomes reflect observed results from a quality improvement initiative at a Level I Trauma Center in the greater Chattanooga, TN region (2026). Results represent a QI initiative and do not guarantee equivalent outcomes at all facilities. Publication of findings in preparation for peer-reviewed submission.
About the Founder
Founder and Managing Principal of Meridian Health Advisors, Terry Ellis brings a rare combination of bedside clinical expertise, doctoral-level research, and business acumen to healthcare consulting. As an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a 100% service-disabled veteran, he built Meridian — headquartered in Ringgold, Georgia — to bridge the persistent gap between evidence and execution in clinical operations.
What We Do
Every Meridian engagement is grounded in peer-reviewed literature, measured against national benchmarks, and designed to outlast our involvement. We build programs your team can own indefinitely.
Our flagship program: structured 90-day implementation of the ACC Expert Consensus Decision Pathway for post-PCI SDD. Proven to move SDD rates from single digits toward national benchmark — at one facility, from 3.75% to 80% in under three months.
We build the steering committee, forge the physician champion relationship, and design the cross-disciplinary infrastructure that turns a single provider's practice pattern into an institution-wide standard. Provider buy-in is our specialty.
Evidence-based education curricula designed for clinical staff, with structured confidence and competency assessment throughout implementation. We develop onboarding modules and annual competency programs your team delivers independently after engagement close.
Outcomes data translated into C-suite-ready reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts. We help health systems tell the story of their performance improvement — internally and nationally. Publication advisory support for cardiology and nursing administration journals.
As a certified SDVOSB, Meridian provides preferred-source consulting to VA Medical Centers, Defense Health Agency facilities, and VISNs. Our methodology is supported by VA-specific peer-reviewed evidence and structured for federal procurement vehicles.
Cost-per-case savings projections, bed availability impact analysis, and payer mix modeling. We help cardiovascular service line leaders build the internal business case for protocol adoption — in language your CFO and board will act on.
How We Work
Engage physician leadership, secure Head of Cardiology sponsorship, and form the interprofessional steering committee. Provider buy-in precedes protocol rollout.
ACC checklist adaptation, EHR integration advisory, SOP formalization, and provider-level performance dashboards. Evidence-based at every step.
Evidence-based staff education with structured competency assessment, onboarding integration, and annual competency module development for lasting sustainability.
90-day executive outcomes report, strategic roadmap to NCDR benchmark, monthly remote data review meetings, and manuscript advisory for publication.
Federal Contracting
As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Meridian Health Advisors qualifies as a preferred source for VA Medical Centers, Defense Health Agency facilities, and all federally contracted health systems. Our founder is a 100% service-connected disabled veteran who understands both the clinical and operational demands of federal healthcare from the inside.
Our PCI same-day discharge methodology is directly supported by VA-specific evidence, including Bagai et al. (2020), which documented an 84% reduction in major bleeding events with transradial intervention at a VA Medical Center — the same evidence base that anchors our implementation programs.
